2Residence: West Boylston. Service Record: Civil War Surgical Unit. Enlisted as a private on Dec 5, 1861 at the age of 25. Enlisted in Company B 15th Infantry Regiment Mass. Promoted to full assistant surgeon on Dec 17, 1862 (as of 12th MA inf.) commission in Company S. 12th Infanty Regiment Mass. on 20 Dec. 1862. Was wounded on May 5th 1864. Mustered out on July 8, 1864 in Boston MA. 3

A native of Fitchburg and a graduate of Worcester Eclectic College.

1st enlistment Dec 1861. Wash 12/17/1862 Promotion to 12th Mass Infantry.
Then promoted to 15th reg Mas.
May 1864 wounded at Wilderness, VA taken by cart to Bell Plains.
June 1862 - At Yorktown, VA w/ McClellan
Dec 1863 @ Kelly's Ford. Surgeon to 9th NY but not camped with them.
